Description
Interact with residents and build rapport with them. Work full-time Saturday-Monday 9:00 pm-7:00 am. Make a positive difference in the lives of 14 young men, 18 - 24 years of age, who are transitioning from homelessness or foster care to self-sufficiency. Assist in the supervision of the facility and aid residents in working toward self sufficiency, gaining permanent housing, increasing income, and developing healthy living skills.
  • Oversee activities of residents to ensure their safety; well-being; participation in the program; and compliance with guidelines.
  • Resolve conflicts between residents and provide crisis intervention.
  • Develop goals with residents and assist them with their goal plans.
  • Facilitate educational and volunteer groups.
  • Complete all required paperwork accurately and completely.
  • Assess medical emergencies, provide emergency First Aid and CPR, and coordinate medical services as needed.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member.
  • Ability to enforce rules.
  • High school diploma/GED and significant undergraduate education in the social sciences, psychology, social work.
  • Experience working with young men.
  • Ability to walk up and down stairs.
  • Valid drivers license and clean driving record (no more than 3 moving violations in the past 3 years, no DUI in the past 5 years).
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screen.
$12.50 per hour, $13.00 per hour after 3 months and completion of training.
