Pay: $65000 - $72000 depending on licensure status

This position is a part of the Youth Empowered Solutions to Succeed (YESS) Team based out of the Youth Resource Center, a 30-bed shelter in downtown Salt Lake City serving youth aged 16-22 experiencing homelessness. The YESS Team Therapist will provide outpatient therapy services to youth ages 18-28 currently or formerly experiencing sheltered and unsheltered homelessness, serious mental illness, and/or substance use disorder. This position works as part of a multi-disciplinary team providing wrap-around services including case management, peer support, and program management. As such, the YESS Team Therapist will frequently collaborate and consult on client cases with all members of the team. All members of the YESS team work to meet clients where they are at, whether it is in their home, within the community, on the street, or at the Youth Resource Center. This position may also assist with clinical program development and community networking as needed.


Essential Duties

  • Provide clinical services to clients experiencing homelessness and serious mental illness, often in non-office settings.
  • Complete mental health assessments and develop treatment plans collaboratively with clients across all stages of change including pre-contemplative, contemplative, and action stages.
  • Participate in regularly scheduled clinical case staffings to ensure appropriate treatment planning and referral of clients as needed.
  • Develop and/or maintain client case files, as directed.
  • Document all services provided per Utah Medicaid Guidelines and program requirements.
  • Collect and enter grant-required data collection for enrolled clients.
  • Administer and utilize clinical assessment tools.
  • Participate in interagency case consultation as necessary while adhering to agency’s confidentiality policy.
  • Complete notes and maintain clinical records according to agency policy and procedure.
  • Provide safe transportation to clients for appointments related to mental health care or treatment goals.
  • Evaluate effective clinical interventions based on developmentally appropriate assessments.
  • Attend work on a punctual, regular, and predictable basis.


Qualifications

  • A master’s degree in a social work or related field, with full licensure, or certified to work towards licensure.
  • Works effectively and ethically with a diverse group of people.
  • Maintains appropriate, professional boundaries with clients and coworkers.
  • Exhibits clear communication skills and cooperates with others.
  • Takes action and makes decisions within the scope of position responsibilities.
  • Considers alternatives and consequences before making independent decisions.
  • Proactively expands and integrates knowledge of community resources.
  • Protects the safety of all information handled.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to lift and carry 25 lbs.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age, possess a current driver’s license, have a good driving record and be insurable on the agency liability policy.
