Description
Volunteers of America, Utah provides a bridge to self-reliance and health for vulnerable individuals and populations who struggle with homelessness, addiction and mental illness in our Wasatch Front communities.

The Marketing Coordinator is part of our External Relations Department's Marketing Team. Our Marketing Team works closely together to identify best practices and strategies to improve our public image and engagement. We produce communications for all of Volunteers of America, Utah to maintain a positive and consistent brand identity, message, and organizational voice. The Marketing Coordinator also works closely with the Chief Development Offer and serves on the External Relations Department’s Special Event Team, assisting with community engagement efforts across all departments.

Essential Duties
  • Oversee maintenance of website and social media including writing content updates; develop and maintain editorial calendar; ensure that new and consistent information (article links, stories, press releases) is posted regularly, is accurate, relevant, compelling and is tandem with current events, and effective to increasing business.
  • Responsible for editorial direction, design, production and distribution of VOA Utah’s publications including letterhead, brochures, flyers, newsletters, donor communications, annual report, event publications, invitations, etc.
  • In close collaboration with colleagues across the organization, align marketing and communications strategies to support the VOA Utah mission, develop and execute internal and external communications vehicles to create momentum and awareness of the organization, programs, and fund raising special events.
  • Write and edit press releases, newsletter articles, programs, presentations, and other content as required.
  • Oversee video production and photographic efforts required for various programs, events, and services.
  • Responsible for developing and coordinating employee training program.
  • Work on special projects as assigned.
  • Attends work on a predictable basis, understanding that nights, weekends and holidays may be required.
Qualifications
  • BS degree in marketing and communications, technical sales or relevant field or 4 years of general sales experience; marketing experience preferred
  • Proficiency in use of computer programs including Office 365, Adobe Creative Suite, email management programs, presentation programs, databases, and statistics
  • Experience in all aspects of social media; knowledge of website development and maintenance; graphic design experience preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Highly motivated, self-starter, ability to work independently; goal driven with a proven track record in growing organization online presence and increasing customers
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, reliable, accurate and ethical
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines; analytical and solution oriented with the ability to overcome objections.
  • Comfortable with community engagement activities, meeting new people with an ability to network effectively internally and externally.
  • Ability to create, value propositions tailored to targeted audience
  • Be able to work in and outside of a standard office environment such as program facilities, trade shows, events, and outdoor areas where noise, temperatures and terrain may fluctuate.
  • Must be able to life a minimum of 20 pounds
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a background check and drug screening

Salary: The salary will be commensurate with experience, hiring range is expected to be $30,000 - $36,000
