Schedule: Full-time. Monday-Friday. Benefits-eligible.
Pay: $57,000

Benefits: Approximate benefits package value: $23,000+

This position will ensure that Volunteers of America, Utah is delivering the highest quality services to our clients by supporting the agency’s efforts to enroll and maintain enrollment of qualified individuals in Medicaid plans.  This position will also assist clients in exploring other potential government or private programs as appropriate.  Finally, this position will initiate credentialing with new providers to maintain.  Support the clients’ application process and monitor their application’s progress in the enrollment process.

Essential Duties

  • Provide direct service to clients supporting their successful enrollment in available Medicaid plans.
  • As requested, provide direct training and consultation to VOA staff who are involved in supporting clients needing enrollment in benefits, including educational materials relevant to the enrollment process, and information on the different programs available to clients.  
  • Monitor the enrollment/review process to determine that all clients needing support are receiving the information and direct consultation that they need to enroll in insurance products.
  • Work closely with program staff who are involved with enrollment processes; attend meetings; keep current with federal, state, and other requirements, timelines, and policy issues.
  • Initiate and maintain new provider credentialing with various Medicaid plans.
  • Attend work on a punctual and reliable basis.
 

Qualifications

Bachelors or experience working in a multi-disciplinary setting (i.e. behavioral health clinic, hospital) or any combination of education, experience, and training which provides the following knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Experience implementing, managing and/or monitoring government and private sector enrollment process for individuals seeking to access insurance coverage.
  • Organized, detail oriented, self-starter with the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Knowledge of laws, regulations, ethics and best-practices affecting the enrollment process.
  • Solid working knowledge of federal, state and local regulations related to insurance eligibility.
  • Experience and understanding of privacy regulations and screening/fulfilling records requests.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and adapt to change.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Project Management skills.
  • Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Word.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age, possess a current driver’s license and have a good driving record and a personal vehicle.
