Community Engagement Manager - Recovery on Redwood

Schedule: Full time (Monday - Thursday, 9:00am - 7:00pm), benefits-eligible
Pay: $22 - $24 / hr
 

Benefits - Approximate full-time benefits package value = $23,000:

Position Summary

The RR Community Engagement Manager oversees volunteer programs and in-kind donation centers at the Recovery on Redwood, ensuring seamless coordination between volunteers, VOA, UT staff, the Community Engagement team, and kitchen operations. They serve as the primary contact for volunteers, fostering relationships and ensuring the smooth operation of initiatives while representing VOA's mission to donors and volunteers.

 

Essential Duties

  • Collaborate with Detox Program Directors to assess community engagement needs and align efforts with program objectives.
  • Design and implement comprehensive community engagement strategies.
  • Identify, establish, and maintain partnerships with organizations to advance the agency's and Detox’s mission.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration and community involvement among staff, clients, and volunteers.
  • Recruit, train, and manage volunteers for on-site opportunities and events.
  • Assist with Marketing on social media platforms, branding, and sub-branding efforts to enhance visibility and engagement.
  • Serve as the primary RR contact for volunteers and act as the Detox program's spokesperson at community events, representing the organization’s mission and values.
  • Supervise RR Community Engagement Coordinators.
  • Collaborate with the Detox Kitchen Coordinators to maintain a shared value collaboration.
  • Ensure and maintain the collection of volunteer data and required waivers to cover VOA, UT's liability and uphold client interaction expectations at the Detox Programs.
  • Manage relationships with donors and oversee the in-kind donation program at RR.
  • Act as a solicitor for financial gifts and advocate for VOA, UT’s overall needs.
  • Attend work as scheduled and arrive at the designated time. 
    • Work must be performed on-site due to the need to provide direct volunteer support.

 

Secondary Duties

  • Support the Detox Program in recruiting and onboarding programming groups for clients.
  • Support volunteer appreciation initiatives and events and assist the External Relations team with donor events and initiatives.
  • Perform other functions as necessary or assigned.
  • Be available for evening and weekend work as needed.

 

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. High school diploma or equivalent required and 2 years of social services or homelessness-related experience or any combination of education, experience, and training which provides the following knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, with 1-2 years of non-profit or volunteer management experience.
  • Supervisory experience, preferably in a non-profit setting.
  • Strong public speaking and presentation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders, including volunteers, donors, and community partners.
  • Ability to uphold professional boundaries, confidentiality regulations, agency policies and procedures, and interact in a professional manner with a diverse workforce, clients, and the public.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database management.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age, possess a current driver’s license, have a good driving record, and be insurable on the agency liability policy.
  • Must be able to pass Utah-DHS – Office of Licensing background screening and pre-employment drug screen.


Physical Demands

  • Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods while performing duties on-site.
  • Work is generally performed in an office environment.  May entail using a computer for extended periods of time.
  • Occasional travel to community events, meetings, or partner organizations, which may require driving.
