Schedule: 6:30PM - 7:00AM (swing and grave shift only), varied days
Pay rate: $18/hr - full time employees are eligible for benefits

The Weigand Winter Overflow program exists to meet the distinctive needs of those who are experiencing homelessness by providing winter overflow shelter during the coldest months of the year. The Weigand Winter Overflow Supervisor will provide daily program oversight including management of non-clinical staff; management of facilities; program services and implementation; community and group liaison; and provide a safe and positive environment for clients and staff in accordance with licensing, agency, and contract standards.

Duties include:

  • Assist the Division Director in all aspects of program operations.
  • Oversee the training and implementation of evidenced based/ best practices such as motivational interviewing, stages of change, trauma informed practices and procedures etc.
  • Complete hiring process for WWO Housing Advocates and manage their schedules.
  • Oversee the on-boarding process, and assist coordinators with on-going staff training, including Relias trainings.
  • Provide regularly scheduled supervision, performance evaluations, and disciplinary processes with direct reports.
  • Complete payroll, receipt coding and pay-related functions in a timely manner.
  • Provide oversight that all client files and related paperwork are maintained in accordance with licensing and contract requirements.
  • Oversee and/or participate in crisis intervention services, including medical, family and psychiatric emergencies.
  • Manage On-Call support for WWO staff.
  • Attend work on a regular and predictable basis.

Qualifications

  • Direct experience with homeless clients.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age, possess a current driver’s license and have a good driving record.
  • A Bachelor’s degree preferred in a social services field, or any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.  
  • 2 years supervisory and administrative experience preferred in a social service setting.
  • Knowledge of mental health and substance use disorder treatment best practices.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Trauma Informed Care, Progressive Engagement and Housing First principles and how to operationalize them within an emergency shelter.
  • Ability to uphold professional boundaries, agency policies and procedures, and interact in a professional manner with a diverse workforce, clients, and the public.
  • Ability to interact with clients and staff by demonstrating genuine empathy, concern and understanding of their experience while maintaining professional boundaries.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Must be able to move around the building and property.
  • Pass Utah DHS - Office of Licensing background screening for those working with vulnerable populations.
