Description

Provide mental health support services, crisis management and intervention, case management for clients (ages 15 - 22) and clinical training and consultation for staff. Supervision provided for individuals on the licensure track. Work 40 hours per week with some flexibility in your schedule.

Essential Duties
  1. Conduct weekly clinical staff meetings to review client progress and provide clinical consultation for program staff.
  2. Provide individual mental health support to SRP clients of the Homeless Youth Resource Center as needed.
  3. Provide crisis intervention and consultation related to the evaluation of the mental health of any SRP client who may be exhibiting symptoms which exceed the scope of practice of case managers and other staff.
  4. Assist management with providing guidance and training for staff related to client confidentiality, working with minors, documentation and client records, etc.
  5. Assist program staff with the provision of appropriate clinical referrals as needed.
  6. Support Center staff with determination of appropriate client admission; per admission criteria, assist with referrals to appropriate services as needed for ineligible clients.
  7. Assist Program Manager and Division Director in maintaining the quality of client records through appropriate review and oversight; assist in preparing for audits of client files.
  8. Develop and help foster appropriate clinical principles aimed at providing high quality services to clients.
  9. Attend regular, weekly program meetings.
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in a mental health discipline and Utah licensure as a mental health therapist (or eligibility for Utah licensure within 2 years of date of hire).
  • Knowledge of: DSM-based diagnostics; individual and group therapy methods; basic mental health and substance abuse evaluation and treatment methods.
  • Experience working with youth preferred.
  • Knowledge of community resources related to youth, homelessness, mental health and substance abuse
  • Self starter who is organized and detail oriented.
  • Experience in staff supervision, meeting management, and providing training preferred.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to interact with clients by demonstrating genuine empathy, concern, and understanding of clients and their difficulties.
  • Ability to work with clients of different ethnic backgrounds and different socio-economic levels.
  • Ability to interact with others in a professional manner and as a team player.
  • Ability to set limits with clients and enforce consequences.
  • Must be able to move around the Youth Resource Center.
  • Pass a criminal background check and a drug screening.
Salary: $43,680
