Recovery Assistant - Adult Men's Detox
Schedule: Full Time, multiple shifts available - Full Time positions are Benefits Eligible! (see below).
Pay: $17/hr

You will get great experience and training to further a career in social work as a case manager, recovery assistant, advocate, and more. Volunteers of America, Utah's Men's Adult Detoxification Center is a 24/7 social model detoxification program that focuses on creating a safe and trauma-informed environment where clients can manage their intoxication and withdrawal symptoms to prepare them for long term recovery. We are looking for people who understand and can maintain professional and ethical boundaries with clients while practicing compassion.
You will:
Pay: $17/hr
Benefits - Approximate full-time benefits package value = $20,000+:

You will:
- Conduct intake interviews with clients who are intoxicated or in withdrawal from substance use.
- Screen clients for admission; intake and orientation.
- Interact with clients who are in the detox process.
- Monitor clients to ensure safety and enforce facility rules.
- Complete record keeping and answer phones.
- Work with coworkers as a supportive team.
- Monitor and document client prescription medications.
- Take vital signs.
Qualifications
- Ability to be firm yet compassionate.
- Familiarity and knowledge of substance abuse strongly preferred, or a willingness to learn.
- Preferred, but not required: High School Diploma or GED.
- Ability to work efficiently and to switch tasks effectively.
- Basic computer skills - required for client data entry, timekeeping, and intake and admission duties.
- For shifts that require driving and client transport: must be at least 21 years of age, possess a current driver's license, and be insurable on agency liability policy.
- Must pass background check.
