Description
The Women’s Homeless Resource Center will provide emergency shelter and case management services to single women experiencing homelessness in Salt Lake County. The center will recognize and meet the distinctive needs of those at risk and homeless populations including: single women; domestic violence victims; individuals with behavioral health disorders; individuals who are medically frail/terminally ill [and/or] those exiting prison or jail. All activities will be undertaken with the ultimate goal of assisting all clients in obtaining housing.

The Staff Manager will provide daily program oversight to help give every client the best opportunities to receive safe emergency shelter and stabilization services and to obtain housing.

Essential Duties
  1. Oversee the training and implementation of evidenced based/ best practices such as motivational interviewing, stages of change, trauma informed practices and procedures etc.
  2. Complete hiring process for Housing Assistants and manage their schedules.
  3. Oversee the on-boarding process, and assist coordinators with on-going staff training, including online trainings.
  4. Provide regularly scheduled supervision, performance evaluations, and disciplinary processes with direct reports.
  5. Oversee and/or participate in crisis intervention services, including medical, family and psychiatric emergencies.
  6. Provide oversight that all client files and related paperwork are maintained in accordance with licensing and contract requirements.
  7. Ensure that all paperwork related to program activities is properly completed, managed confidentially,
  8. and stored in appropriate locations.
  9. Utilize appropriate licensing, agency and contract requirements to guide daily program operations and program development.
  10. Assist the Director in all aspects of program operations.
  11. Participate in audits, site visits, and provide oversight that all client files and related paperwork are maintained in accordance with licensing and contract requirements are submitted in a timely manner. 
Qualifications

  1. A Bachelor’s degree, but preferably a Master’s degree and licensure, in a social services field or any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training. Other required knowledge, skills and abilities:
  2. Direct experience working with homeless clients.
  3. 2 years supervisory and administrative experience in a social service setting.
  4. Knowledge of mental health and substance use disorder treatment best practices.
  5. Knowledge and understanding of Motivational Interviewing techniques, Stages of Change models, Trauma Informed Care principles and how to operationalize them within an emergency shelter for women.
  6. Ability to uphold professional boundaries, agency policies and procedures, and interact in a professional manner with a diverse workforce, clients and the public.
  7. Ability to interact with clients and staff by demonstrating genuine empathy, concern and understanding of their experience while maintaining professional boundaries.
  8. Proficient in Microsoft Office
  9. Must be able to move around the building and property.
