Description
Volunteers of America, Utah is a nonprofit agency with more than 200 paid staff who serve more than 10,000 people each year through programs addressing homelessness, addiction, and mental illness.
 
Help increase public awareness and financial support for Volunteers of America, Utah, through donor engagement, communications, Raiser’s Edge database management,  and other development activities. Ensure a positive donor experience by working collaboratively in a donor-centered development and stewardship program to strengthen funder relationships and deepen financial support for Volunteers of America, Utah.
  • Manage and update the Raiser’s Edge database and act as the lead for all development department databases and programs (Raisers Ege, Constant Contact, etc.).
  • Manage systems and processes for cash, pledge and in-kind gifts  - data entry, acknowledgements, reminders, monthly gifts and reconciliation of financials.
  • Prepare, analyze, interpret, and create fundraising and donor reports/queries.
  • Analyze current donor giving patterns to increase donor retention, upgrading, and conversion rates.
  • Work with Chief Development Officer in identification, cultivation, and stewardship of existing and prospective donors.
  • Work in collaboration with Development team to write and produce donor communications, email messages, fundraising appeals, website and social media, mail campaigns; act as lead for list preparation and management.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for donor recognition, stewardship, and appreciation.
  • Manage a portfolio of donors and create personal relationships, including prospecting, cultivation and solicitation of small gifts; arrange and support major donor visits and calls for CEO, CDO, and board members.
  • Be available for occasional weekend or evening events. 
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in Marketing, Business, Parks & Recreation, hospitality or a similar field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in an administrative position; non-profit experience ideal.
  • Comfortable interacting in a professional manner with diverse team members at all levels of the organization, donors, volunteers, community organizations and vendors; must be team oriented and collaborative.
  • Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills, including customer service skills.
  • Ability to prepare, analyze, interpret, and report on agency data.
  • Good presentation and interpersonal skills with a strong customer service orientation with an emphasis on meeting or exceeding donor expectations.
  • Enthusiastic, organized, detail oriented, and able to prioritize projects and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Social Media platforms; understanding of and comfortable with updating websites; must be able to learn new computer programs and databases.
  • Previous donor database (Raiser’s Edge) experience preferred.
  • Work is generally performed in an office environment. Must sit for extended periods of time. Walk up and down stairs and be able to lift 25 lbs. and engage in set up/take down of event equipment, banners, and pop up tents, loading/unloading vehicles and maneuvering carts
  • Reliable transportation and clean driving record (no DUI within 5 years, no more than 3 moving violations in the past 3 years)
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screen.
